My role as your postpartum doula is to normalize life with a newborn and ease the overwhelm that often comes with it. As an experienced postpartum doula, I support families by:
Educating parents—whether this is your first baby or you’re welcoming a new baby alongside older children
Reassuring you about what’s normal, including feeding patterns, sleep, and developmental milestones
Lightening the mental and physical load of parenthood through steady support and companionship
Teaching newborn basics such as swaddling and the often-mysterious world of baby digestion (yes, poop!)
Helping families find new rhythms and routines—even when days feel unpredictable
Problem-solving common challenges, from navigating visitors and family dynamics to adjusting relationships and expectations after baby arrives
-
A birth doula offers support for pregnancy, labor and birth whereas a postpartum doula is focused on the time after — when life as you knew it stops and you have a newborn to take care of 24/7.
-
It’s ideal to connect with and book a postpartum doula during your pregnancy, preferably during your second trimester, to ensure a smooth transition after baby arrives- when your hands are full and the sleep deprivation hits.
-
The fourth trimester is considered the first twelve weeks (3 months) after baby is born.
For your baby, it’s a time of major adjustment. After months in the womb—warm, dark, constantly moving, and always hearing your heartbeat—they’re suddenly in a bright, noisy world.
For you, the fourth trimester is a season of healing and transformation. Your body is recovering from pregnancy and birth, while you’re also learning how to feed, soothe, and care for a newborn. Your priorities are changing and your emotions can feel raw, overwhelming, and tender-sometimes all in one day.
In many cultures, this period is treated as sacred recovery time, with built-in rest, nourishment, and community support. The idea behind the fourth trimester is simple: postpartum care deserves just as much intention and preparation as pregnancy and birth.

As a postpartum focused doula, I help to answer the extended and ever evolving questions of "how do I take care of the baby and myself and maybe a toddler and my relationship with my partner during this transformative, sensitive/vulnerable, transient and emotional time?”
Sometimes you and I will simply sit and chat while the baby sleeps.I have found that the modern motherhood experience is often lonely and isolating and more and more mothers are full of anxiety and stress. They compare themselves to the "perfect" mother online, ask questions such as 'why isn't my baby sleeping, what am I doing wrong', have a general lack of partner support and from work places (parental leave), and even disconnection from baby --snoo, cry it out, no skin to skin. I work to help all of this!

You’ll find me at your door armed with a baby wrap, a portable sound machine, and a handful of my other best resources to help you do what needs to be done to take care of you, and baby, well.
In-home postpartum care averages 3 hours per visit. In that time you’ll receive my undivided attention, an extra set of hands, a discerning and trained mind to see how you and baby are navigating day to day. Clients often find me…
+in your kitchen, making you a meal or doing some dishes
+in your laundry room, tackling that load of baby clothes
+on your couch, listening to you
+on the floor, doing tummy time with your baby
+in your text messages, checking in
We’ll have plenty of time to go over the changes in your body, the baby’s progress, soothing techniques, navigating the emotional landscape of becoming a mother or expanding your heart to welcome another kiddo to this world.
